Holcomb Sends Cease And Desist To News Outlets Over Alleged Cover-Up Story

Indiana’s governor is demanding the IndyStar and nonprofit news source outlet Reveal take down stories accusing that he was part of a cover-up after the death of an Amazon worker.

Governor Eric Holcomb issued a cease and desist letter Friday saying the stories put out by those news outlets were inaccurate and contained falsehoods.

Holcomb denies any involvement in a state Department of Labor investigation of the 2017 Incident. A state safety inspector fined Amazon $28,000 saying the company provide insufficient training which contributed to the death of Phillip Lee Terry.

The final report issued a year after the incident dropped the fine and all safety violation orders, saying that Amazon “made a sufficient showing that it met all the required elements of an unpreventable employee misconduct defense.”
