A Bloomington coffee house staple is spreading out to new parts of the city. Soma Coffee House and Juice Bar opened a new location Tuesday on the corner of Hillside and Henderson, formerly occupied by Feast and Oona.
Owner Bob Costello says he hopes the Hillside location will become part of the neighborhood.
“We would like to be part of the community here, there are a lot of residents that live around here that we now are a place they can walk to for a sweet treat or for coffee or smoothie,” Costello says.
The new space is Soma’s third location in Bloomington and the first not located near campus. Soma offers sandwiches, baked goods and salads in addition to coffee and smoothies.
The new Soma location on Hillside is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
