The Indiana Department of Environmental Resources has declared an air quality alert for Tuesday for several counties.
The counties under the warning include: Boone, Hamilton, Madison, Delaware, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby, Greene, Monroe, Brown, Bartholomew, Knox, Daviess, Jackson.
The National Weather Service reports that ozone levels are expected to be in the orange or unhealthy sensitive groups range.
Officials recommend that active residents, as well as those with respiratory disease, like asthma for example, should decrease their outdoor exposure.
