The Indiana Department of Transportation has suspended an employee without pay because of an 'unacceptable' email sent from his work email.
New York Times columnist Charles M. Blow posted a screenshot of the email on Facebook, sent Thursday from David Brewer, a Manager of External Audit according to the email signature line.
Blow writes he got the email from Brewer in response to a column, but doesn't reference which one. In the email, Brewer writes, "Did your surname come from you being a cocaine addict or just from the fact that your opinion BLOWS?"
INDOT shared the post on its own Facebook page, announcing that Brewer has been suspended without pay and and is under review.
The email is sent from an official ".gov" work address and appears to have been sent during a work day.
