Law enforcement officials in Brown County discovered and destroyed approximately $1 million — 3,100 marijuana plants — worth of marijuana on Tuesday.
Sheriff Scott Southerland says a large hole was dug in a remote location and the marijuana was cut, placed in the hole, set on fire and covered up.
Southerland says the location of the hole will not be disclosed in an effort to keep people from looking for and digging up the marijuana.
The Brown County Sheriff's Department made the discovery after it received an anonymous tip revealing the location of the marijuana.
No arrests have yet been reported.
