The Indiana Department of Transportation and Iowa Pacific Holdings are expanding their services on the Hoosier State Line to offer business-class service to passengers.
The new amenities are part of an operating agreement the state reached with Amtrak and Iowa Pacific in August. Under the agreement, Amtrak operates the line while Iowa Pacific provides the equipment and maintenance.
Business-class passengers will have exclusive access to the train's super dome car, which features a glass, domed ceiling and booths where people can take in the view. The super dome had previously been free for all passengers. The new business-class service also includes a hot meal and alcoholic beverages.
According to INDOT, the addition of a business-class car more than doubles the seating capacity of the train.
