Indiana Football Falls To Undefeated Hawkeyes

After starting the season 4-0, the Hoosiers suddenly find themselves at 4-5 after their fifth consecutive defeat, a 35-27 loss to No. 9 Iowa at Memorial Stadium.

The Hoosiers led 17-14 late in the first half after a 29-yard run from running back Jordan Howard, but the Hawkeyes' successive 10-play, 65-yard drive gave the Hawkeyes a 21-17 edge at halftime.

Indiana linebacker T.J. Simmons was ejected in the second quarter after officials penalized him for targeting Iowa receiver Tevaun Smith on a tackle.

Iowa's lead was as large as 15 in the fourth quarter, but a Nate Sudfeld touchdown pass with 2:24 remaining brought the Hoosiers within a score. The throw from the senior quarterback was Sudfeld's 49th touchdown pass as a member of the Hoosiers, the most in the history of the program.

Indiana (4-5) will face No. 16 Michigan (7-2) next Saturday in the Hoosiers' final home game of the 2015 season. Indiana needs to win two of their final three games to qualify for a bowl game.
