Ball State University alumnus David Letterman is donating a collection of memorabilia from his time hosting late night television to his alma mater.
Ball State President Paul Ferguson says the collection includes pieces of the "Late Show" set, props and all of Letterman's Emmys.
While speaking at the Muncie school on Monday night, the famous "Late Show" host predictably joked about the university's enthusiasm with the donation that will be branded "The David Letterman Experience."
"To call the contribution of memorabilia 'The Dave Letterman Experience'… so you can sit at a desk and pretend to talk to an actor," Letterman says.
The collection will be housed in the Ball State media building that bears Letterman's name.
