Now More Than 5,300 COVID-19 In Indiana Long-Term Care Facilities

Experts say staffing facilities has become increasingly difficult throughout the pandemic.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Indiana’s long-term care facilities went up by 195 during the last week. The death toll in these facilities also increased by 26.

There are now more than 5,300 confirmed cases and 1,166 in long-term care facilities.

Nearly half of the state’s COVID-19 deaths can be traced back to long-term care residents. Further, about half of all long-term care facilities have had at least one confirmed case.

Indiana  continues to deny requests for more transparency over the outbreak's spread in long-term care facilities.
