Indiana State Police say 911 services have now returned to normal after an outage.
Emergency calls to 911 from landline phones were not going through in several southern Indiana counties.
An AT&T phone fiber line was severed somewhere between Brown County and Columbus, Ind. around 10 a.m.
Monroe County Emergency Dispatch Communications Director Jeff Schemmer says more than 100,000 Indiana residents were affected by the outage.
"It's not something that we're fixing, it's a problem by the phone company that's dealing with it, we're just one of the end users of it," Schemmer says.
