All but seven counties in Indiana is under a travel advisory, watch or warningbecause of yesterday's snowfall and subzero temperatures. Nathan Riggs with the Indiana Department of Transportation says many road conditions are hazardous, which is why the advisory is in place.
"Weather is going to be extended through today or possibly even Tuesday," Riggs said. "These conditions are not favorable for speedy clean up."
The following counties are under travel warnings, the highest level of local travel advisory. Under the warning, only emergency management is allowed on the roads.
The following counties are under travel watches. The Indiana Department of Homeland Securitysays a watch means conditions are threatening to the safety of the public and during a "watch", only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended.
The following counties are in travel advisories, the lowest level of local travel advisory that says routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.
