The Kinsey Institute at Indiana University is now home to the living archive of Helen Fisher, a biological anthropologist and chief scientific adviser to Match.com.
Fisher's work on the evolution of human sexuality brought her to IU last semester to speak as part of the Themester, where she announced she would house her archived work at the Institute.
Kinsey Institute spokesperson Jennifer Bass says Fisher's work is crucial to the study of sexuality because of its relevance to current society.
"At some point, people may want to look back and say, ‘well what was going on the later part of the 20 th century and into the 21 st century?' What were people talking about? What was going on in the media? What was happening with Match.com and Chemistry.com and how can we understand that from the perspective of primary materials, which is what Dr. Fisher has," Bass said.
Kinsey researchers are cataloging the donated materials to make Fisher's work available for future exhibits, presentations and research.
