The Circle City is ready to host one of the top 25 marathons in the nation.
The Monumental Marathon is Saturday. Executive Director Blake Boldon says some 15,000 people will be in downtown Indianapolis for the big event.
The event raises money for public education and has raised $500,000 for Indianapolis Public Schools in the past six years.
Numerous downtown streets will be closed, and Boldon says the interstates will be the best way to across and through town.
The marathon and half-marathon kick off at 8 a.m. Most streets should be back open before 3 p.m.
