Cardinal Spirits To Expand Distribution Into East Coast States

Owners of Bloomington-based distillery Cardinal Spirits are planning to expand their reach across the state and the country, even as recently-legalized Sunday sales are expected to give the business a boost.

Cardinal recently switched to a larger distributor. Distillery Co-Founder Adam Quirk says that will help them get into more stores in Indiana and on the east coast, including in Connecticut, Maryland and Massachusetts.

"It's one step on a path that we feel like we'd like to become a large distillery based in Indiana that services all of the Midwest and the northeast," he says.

Quirk says statewide Sunday alcohol sales will give Cardinal and other Indiana distilleries a boost.

"We just think it's going to do better for all of us, all of the Indiana producers- Upland, the wineries, everyone, because it's just another opportunity," he says. "People are always grocery shopping on Sunday so I think now it's just going to be better for everyone."

Quirk says the company also plans to debut a new canned cocktail product in the next few weeks, which will launch through ten different distributors.
