Governor Extends Disaster Emergency To Seven Additional Counties

Gov. Eric Holcomb added seven counties to his disaster emergency declaration after visiting flooded parts of the state Monday.

Holcomb signed a new executive order that includes Benton, Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Jefferson, Spencer and Warrick counties. That's in addition to an executive order he signed over the weekend declaring an emergency in 11 counties.

The order allows the Indiana State Department of Homeland Security to provide additional emergency services to the impacted communities. The disaster declaration is also required before the state can ask the federal government for help.
