The Indiana Department of Environmental Management will have several public meetings across the state to receive feedback on how to allocate millions of dollars the state received from a settlement with Volkswagen.
Indiana will receive about $40 million from Volkswagen after the auto-manufacturing company violated the federal Clean Air Act. Gov. Eric Holcomb established an advisory committee last fall that will draft a plan for spending and distributing that money.
In a press release, IDEM announced the five planned meetings would serve to "provide information and gather input on Indiana's Beneficiary Mitigation Plan."
