Indiana native John Mellencamp is one of ten musicians being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame this year.
The induction ceremony will take place June 14 at the Mariott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
Mellencamp started his music career more than 35 years ago, and has written more than 20 Top 40 hit songs. He is also a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a Grammy Award-winner, along with many other awards.
Other inductees include Bill Anderson, Steve Dorff, Jermaine Dupri, Alan Jackson and Allee Willis, as well as Robert "Kool" Bell, Ronald Bell, George Brown and James "JT" Taylor, the members of "Kool & The Gang."
