The Monroe County Community School Corporation set fees for its new early learning center.
The school board discussed the fee structure at three work sessions, then voted Tuesday to establish the fees.
MCCSC decided to start its own childcare center in part because of the need created when the the YMCA childcare center closed in December.
MCCSC director of business operations John Kenny says they decided on the proposed fees after completing an informal survey that compares prices at Bloomington childcare centers.
Parents will pay a $35 registration fee, a $40 activity fee, and a $200 registration deposit that is applied toward the first regular payment.
Those fees are in addition to weekly enrollment rates that range from $195 for pre-K students, to $245 for infants.
Superintendent Judy DeMuth says they've established payment plans and options. And she says most services will be free for students on vouchers.
"So those students would have that opportunity to participate under the same guidance and rules that we currently have in our daycares and our preschools," DeMuth says.
The center will open in July.
