The recent cold snap and snow has cancelled schools, put road crews on overtime and a lot of people are holding themselves up inside.
But that's a sharp contrast to the scene at Paoli Peaks in southern Indiana.
General manager Rick McMullen says for the first time in several years the weather is actually cooperating.
"For southern Indiana we don't get a lot of natural snow," he says. "But we were blessed with a couple of inches on Monday, a couple of inches last Friday, so the conditions are phenomenal out there right now."
McMullen says they've been able to make a lot of snow, too.
He's confident Paoli has enough snow to make it through this warm spell that's supposed to last at least well into next week.
