Robel Delivers State Of The Campus Address For IU Bloomington

Indiana University Provost Lauren Robel delivered the Indiana University State of the Campus speech Tuesday in President's Hall.

Robel touched on many topics affecting the university during the speech, including mental illness, sexual assault and problems within the IU Greek community. She also spoke on the recent launch of the Center for Rural Engagement, a program aiming to assist rural communities across Indiana with problems such as education access and public health.

Robel says the university is also working on two new research initiatives. One will focus on quantum science and engineering, and the other will focus on creating sustainable food systems.

Last year, protesters interrupted the State of the Campus address, calling for IU to become a sanctuary campus for immigrants. But this year Robel gave the speech without interruption.
