At noon on Thursday, the Indiana State Department of Health reported 521 new positive cases and seven additional confirmed deaths, bringing Indiana's total case number to 49,575 and the confirmed death toll to 2,546.
Monroe County hit the two-week mark without a reported coronavirus-related death. The county death toll remains at 28. ISDH did report an additional six positive cases Thursday, totaling 315 for the county.
Mayor John Hamilton continues to support a national mask mandate but hasn’t ordered one for Monroe County. Monroe County health administrator Penny Caudill said she’ll discuss a potential mandate in more depth at Friday’s press conference with IU, Bloomington and county leaders.
