Police escorted the organizer of Black Lives Matter Bloomington out of Wednesday night's city council meeting after he interrupted the proceedings.
Vauhxx Booker was one of about a dozen protesters who attended. They've been interrupting city council meetings because they're unhappy that the city's moving forward with a controversial armored vehicle purchase.
Council member Dave Rollo asked officers to remove Booker after he spoke out multiple times last night.
"I'm going to recess this meeting. Sergeant of Arms would you please escort Mr. Booker out of council Chambers," Rollo says.
Booker waited until after a historical presentation by council and brief remarks by Mayor John Hamilton were finished before interrupting the meeting. The special session was quickly adjourned as he was speaking.
It was when council reconvened and he interrupted the committee of the whole that police escorted Booker out of council chambers.
This is the third city council meeting in a row that's ended early because of protests.
