A long-time Bloomington running store announced it will close next week.
The Running Company, which sits on the courthouse square, has been part of the community for more than a decade.
Store Manager, Jeffrey Denny, says a new lease agreement forced owners to make a tough decision.
"So from a cost savings stand point, we were in a very good position for about nine or 10 years in terms of a lease," he says. "And then when we would have had to re-up, we would've been losing a lot of money."
Denny says community members have voiced their disappointment with the closure, but he says there are rumblings that former employees may open a different running specialty store.
The store's last day of business will be Saturday, May 26 th.
