Commission members of Brown County's proposed performing arts center are evaluating contractor bids.
The Maple Leaf Planning Commission met Wednesday to provide updates on the search process.
The county borrowed $12.5 million to pay for the indoor 2,000-seat venue that is expected to host concerts and other entertainers.
Sherrie Mitchell was one of just eight residents that attended the meeting. She says she has several concerns about the project, but that doesn't mean she's opposed to it.
"I don't have a problem with Maple Leaf. Doesn't everybody like a good show?" Mitchell asked. "So it's not the venue itself, it's the money to make sure that the tax payers are protected."
The board says they will take up Mitchell's concerns to the city's attorney overseeing the project. There's no timeline on when the contractor is expected to be chosen.
