A new opioid treatment center has opened in Terre Haute.
Western Indiana Recovery Services, located across the street from Terre Haute City Hall and the Vigo County Courthouse, is dedicated exclusively to treatment of opioid addiction.
The facility opened this week. It's the first of five new opioid treatment centers in a treatment expansion plan approved by the state last year.
Other counties adding programs are Allen, Johnson, Monroe and Tippecanoe.
