A Monroe County man is facing charges of animal cruelty and failure to properly dispose of a dead animal after police say they found two dead horses on his property last month.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Department arrested Jeffery Richardson Friday. He was released on bond that same day.
In addition to finding dead horses on Richardson's property, police say they discovered one horse who was alive but suffering from starvation.
Richardson faces two felony and three misdemeanor charges. An initial hearing is scheduled for June 22.
