Severe thunderstorms rolled through southern Indiana Thursday afternoon, shutting down power and blowing over trees.
The Bloomington Mayor's Facebook page indicated traffic light outages throughout the city including the entire College Mall corridor.
Duke Energy reports more than 46,000 customers are without service, including more than 15,000 in Monroe County. Vectren reports more than 5,600 customers are without power. The Jackson County REMC reports more than 7,300 members are without power, and the Utilities District of Western Indiana reports more than 3,100 members are affected by the outages.

The National Weather Service reported downed trees and utility poles blocking some roads. Many of the reports indicate wind speeds of 60 MPH.
Evansville police told WFIE-TV that a semi was blown over on U.S. 41 in the city, causing two minor injuries.
A thunderstorm watch remains in effect for some south eastern Indiana counties until 6 p.m.
