Indiana had another record-setting day of positive cases, 1,253, after yesterday’s 1,051 new cases, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana State Department of Health. With 10 additional deaths, state totals are now 72,254 confirmed cases and 2,821 coronavirus-related deaths.
ISDH data indicate 817,104 Hoosiers have been tested for COVID-19 with an 8.8% positivity rate, which has declined as testing became more accessible.
In Monroe County, the ISDH reported 14 new cases bringing the countywide total to 722. The death toll remained the same at 30 for the tenth consecutive day. Monroe County has tested 16,552 with a positivity rate of less than 4.4%.
Nearly 1,000 Hoosiers are currently hospitalized with COVID-19-related illnesses.
