INDOT To Close Some Martinsville Roads As Part Of I-69 Project

The Indiana Department of Transportation is closing key roads along State Road 37 in Martinsville as it continues with its I-69 Finish Line project.

Public Relations Director for INDOT’s Seymour District Natalie Garrett said the final stage of the project is focused in the Morgan County area. It will complete the stretch of I-69 that runs from Evansville to Indianapolis.

She said crews are currently widening State Road 39 in preparation for the temporary closure of State Road 37 in 2021.

“Mainline work is starting to get underway, but will really ramp up once that full closure goes into effect early next year," Garrett said.

Lane closures and overnight stoppages along State Road 37 are scheduled for this week. Whiteland Road east of 37 closed permanently on Tuesday. For more information on road and lane closures, visit INDOT’s customer service website.

The project is on track to be completed by late 2024.
