More than 30 Bloomington restaurants are participating in Bloomington Restaurant Week, which is a two-week event meant to showcase the area's diverse range of eateries.

The promotional event hosted by Visit Bloomington kicked off Oct. 19 and goes until Nov. 1.

Erin White, director of leisure marketing and management for Visit Bloomington, said this event is an opportunity for local restaurants to spice up their menus, add deals and advertise their businesses during the pandemic.

“We all know that it’s been a difficult year to say the least,” White said. “Our restaurants and our hospitality workers who are employed by these restaurants have faced some very difficult hurdles.”

She said this is the first Bloomington Restaurant Week with hopes to help these restaurants.

“This was one small promotional opportunity that we can take off of their plates and really run with,” White said.

A list of the restaurants participating can be found at VisitBloomington.com.
