Indiana public health officials on Sunday reported 2,787 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 28 additional deaths.
Overall 182,108 people have had coronavirus since the pandemic began. The death toll is 4,124 people, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
Another 240 probable deaths have also been reported based on clinical diagnoses but there’s no positive test on record.
Health officials said Sunday that nearly 11,000 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours. Nearly 3 million tests have been reported since late February.
In Monroe County, the total COVID-19 case number rose by 14 to 3,557, and the county death toll remained the same at 39, the department said.
Some 53,247 Monroe County residents have been tested, it said.

According to the department, cases doubled during October compared to previous months. The rolling average positivity rate grew from about 5 percent to about 8 percent. And the average number of deaths per day increased by about 10.
The number of Hoosiers in hospitals is also increasing. More than 1,700 Hoosiers were hospitalized Sunday; 962 were in hospitals at the beginning of October. The availability of ventilators and ICU beds also decreased over the same period.
