COVID-19 case counts more than tripled throughout October. And on Wednesday, Indiana experienced another record-high day.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported 3,756 new positive cases confirmed between Oct. 23 and Nov. 3 and 25 new deaths that occurred between Oct. 31 and Nov. 3. The new numbers increase Indiana’s totals to 191,764 cases statewide and 4,224 deaths.
Indiana’s COVID-19 hospitalizations also peaked at 1,897 — the highest they have ever reached.
The state has administered more than 3 million tests on 1.7 million Hoosiers with an 8.7% seven-day positivity rate.
Monroe County reported 54 new COVID-19 cases to the ISDH, increasing the county total to 3,672. The death toll remained at 40. The county has administered 130,286 tests on 53,898 individuals with a 2.9% seven-day positivity rate
