Indiana public health officials announced on Sunday that 36 more people have died from COVID-19, for an overall death toll of 4,383 people in the state.
The Indiana Department of Health announced 4,689 new confirmed cases. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 210,374 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
State officials said another 246 probable deaths have been reported based on diagnoses, but for whom no positive test is on record.
Since moving to Stage 5 on Sept. 26, Indiana’s seven-day average has increased by 317 percent – more than quadrupling the average. In that same time period, 38 counties have more than doubled their number of reported cases.
Monroe County's total COVID-19 case number rose by 72 to 3,932. Data provided shows 55,238 Monroe County residents have been tested. Monroe County's death toll is 42.

More than 3.2 million tests have been conducted in Indiana. The number includes people who have had repeat tests.
