As part of the COVID-19 plan that was designed this summer, there will be no in-person instruction at Indiana University until Feb. 8.
This includes the rest of fall semester, the winter session, and the beginning of spring semester. Chuck Carney, director of media relations, says the few exceptions are primarily labs.
“No on campus instruction during what we would believe to be the highest part of the flu season and of course it happens that we are undergoing a spike in national cases as well,” Carney said.
He said residential buildings are closed, except for some international students.
“Overall, there are about 700 staying over the Thanksgiving break and around 400 on the Bloomington campus who will stay the entire break until Feb. 8,” Carney said. “We are encouraging those who are working from home to continue to do so, I know that is largely happening at this point.”
