Drivers will encounter lane closures and traffic stops next week near Martinsville.

The delivery and installation of large bridge beams over Indian Creek will close one northbound lane of State Road 37 between Liberty Church Road and S.R. 39.  The closure will be on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation. The single lane closure is expected between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

In addition, rolling stops of up to 20 minutes each are expected Tuesday through Thursday in both northbound and southbound lanes of S.R. 37 to accommodate moving equipment.

The delivery route for the beams passes through Martinsville via state roads 67 and  39, and they’ll be staged at the I-69 Liberty Church Road exit.

Drivers also should expect lane shifts at the intersection of S.R. 37 and Henderson Ford Road late next week as crews install a pipe under the intersection. Work crews are scheduled to set beams at the new I-69 bridge over S.R. 39 the week of May 17.

Law enforcement will assist with traffic control,  distracted driving laws and work-zone speed limits.

INDOT Spokesperson Natalie Garrett says the Martinsville phase of I-69 is on pace to be completed by the end of this year.
