Indiana Records 1,056 More COVID-19 Cases, 8 New Deaths

Health officials reported 1,056 new COVID-19 cases Saturday in Indiana, raising the state total to 728,811.

The State Department of Health also reported eight new deaths; 12,991 people have died since the pandemic began.

The state reported 29,802 new tests, adding to its 9.9 million tests overall.

The 7-day positivity rate was 5.1%.

The department reported there were 917 COVID-19 patients hospitalized across the state.

In Monroe County, there were 23 patients hospitalized with the virus.

The health department reported 14 new positive COVID-19 cases, adding to the total 11,873 county residents to test positive since the pandemic began.

Officials reported no new deaths Saturday; 170 have died since the pandemic began.

The county has conducted 543,510 tests for the virus including 2,285 new ones Saturday.

The county’s 7-day positivity rate was 1.3% as of Saturday.
