Indiana authorities announced Sunday that officers had arrested a man connected to several thefts of catalytic converters in southern Indiana.
They did not identify the suspect or indicate when the arrest occurred.
In a Facebook post, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources reported that several other suspects were identified and may be arrested and charged soon.
The DNR post did not provide details about the others but said that more information would be released after charges were filed.
Calls to a DNR spokesperson were not immediately returned Sunday.
The post noted that several law enforcement agencies were involved in the investigation including the Indiana State Police and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Earlier this year, the Indiana State Police reported that suspects were harvesting converters from abandoned vehicles parked along interstate shoulders.
Two women were caught on a traffic camera in March removing a catalytic converter from under a car parked along the side of I-70.
“In this particular instance, we found two more catalytic converters in the back seat of their car, and those catalytic converters had been freshly cut off of two other abandoned vehicles in the area and we were able to match those up,” Sgt. John Perrine said at the time.
Another suspect was caught with 17 stolen converters by troopers in a joint operation between ISP and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Thieves usually sell the metal inside the catalytic converters, officials say.
