In a statement, the investigators said a kayaker discovered the body of a white female Wednesday near the Water Road public access ramp.

They said the woman's cause of death was pending the results of an autopsy. They haven’t found evidence of foul play, the statement said.

Investigators are still trying to identify the body. Anyone with information can reach the Department of Natural Resources dispatch at (812) 837-9536.
