Police responded to multiple calls about gunshots on the 4500 block of E Third Street Wednesday evening.

Police are offering more detail after responding to a call about gunshots in the vicinity of Bruster’s Real Ice Cream around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Witnesses said immediately after the shots were fired, they saw a light-colored sedan driving slowly before speeding off westward on Third Street, according to the Bloomington Police Department.

Police also reported seeing a pedestrian drop to the sidewalk before standing up and walking away. Officers said they couldn’t find the pedestrian or any indication that the person was injured.

Police found several empty bullet casings on the road near the intersection of Third Street and Morningside Drive.

The investigation is ongoing.
