Next Level Jobs, Jacobs music school kids program, Whitten’s contract extension | Indiana Newsdesk

Indiana leaders say the state’s workforce needs to become more skilled and educated. And the Next Level Jobs program is doing just that. The state covers the cost of the program, which is for adults who graduated high school but have no college degree.

A collaboration between the IU Jacobs School of Music and Monroe County Community Schools helps kids turn musical ideas into performable pieces. Winners of a competition have their works performed in concert.

And the Indiana University Board of Trustees approve a contract extension for embattled president Pamela Whitten.
