This free, family-friendly celebration shines a spotlight on the exciting lineup of events and programs happening throughout Bloomington this summer. The community comes together for an evening of live music, hands-on children’s activities, interactive games, and opportunities to learn about upcoming events and programs for all ages. Meet staff, explore registration options, and discover new ways to stay active, creative, and connected all summer long. Featuring Latin soul music by Tortilla Jackson.
Bloomington Parks and Recreation and Cicada Cinema present free movies on the big screen in city parks. Movies begin at dusk; see estimated start times.
Please be aware that some of the movies have a rating of PG and PG-13. We request your assistance in determining if a particular movie is appropriate for your family.

Description: Science Story Time is geared toward listeners toddler through early elementary ages. This program uses children’s picture books to engage as well as support scientific concepts and experiments. Young scientists develop literacy and STEM skills as well as build vocabulary by actively participating in the hands-on program. Activities designed for ages 2-6. All are welcome. Activities vary monthly.
Recommended Ages: Children ages 2-6 with their caregivers
Dates: Weekly on Thursdays
Curiosity Lab is an after-school, free play program for kids ages 6-10 years. Children are invited to explore, experiment, and engage in hands-on sensory activities at their own pace. No instructions, no pressure—just curiosity-driven play. Held in WonderLab (or sometimes outdoors weather permitting), the space is set up for exploration with a variety of rotating materials and stations.
There will be one main activity/installment/manipulative for the month that will be brought out every Thursday. This will rotate with the month and the month's theme.

Discovery Time activities are designed by early childhood specialists specifically to nurture and challenge the rapid development of preschool-aged children in a fun, safe, and collaborative learning environment. Activities vary monthly.
Get closer to the wild side with Animal Hour and Dive Deeper! These weekly programs let you chat with WonderLab’s animal experts, discover what it takes to care for creatures from around the globe, and meet snakes, lizards, insects, arachnids, and more—up close and out of their habitats.
Animal Hour takes place on most Fridays, while Dive Deeper happens on the last Friday of each month at WonderLab’s stunning coral reef aquarium.

Garage Con is back again! It's been 7 years, and we're ready to get back to it.Come play board games, card games, RPGs, and more all day. We'll have game demos, scheduled games, or you can choose from our huge games library. Everyone is encouraged to bring your own games to share as well.There will be plenty of space, snacks & drinks for sale, raffle prizes, and, of course, tons of games to play all day... Come for a quickie or stay for some epic all-day gaming.
Welcome to spring! The Wylie House Museum’s newest exhibition, Louisa’s Garden, opens May 1st! The exhibition highlights Louisa Wylie Boisen, eldest daughter of IU professor Theophilus Wylie, and her accomplishments as a brave, complex, and cherished woman. Her horticultural impact can still be seen at the Wylie House today, over 70 years later! Come to the Wylie House Museum every Saturday in May and make your own mini WHM garden to cherish, in memory of Louise Boisen Wylie.
