The U.S. Department of Agriculture has made $16 billion in assistance available to farmers who suffered crop losses due to natural disasters in 2023 and 2024.

Through the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program and Farm Service Agency (FSA), funds will be made available in two stages.

Stage one is for producers who received assistance under crop insurance or the Noninsured Crop Disaster Program during 2023 and 2024. Sign-ups began on July 10th at FSA County Offices.

Stage two for uncovered losses or losses that don’t reach the deductible of an insurance policy begin in early fall.

This rollout is part of Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins’ plan to deliver all of the Congressionally appropriated $30 billion in disaster assistance to farmers this year.
