The Monroe County Community School Corporation performed well above average in test scores released this week for third through eighth graders.
ILEARN, which stands for Indiana Learning Evaluation and Assessment Readiness Network, measures students' proficiency in English and math. The tests were conducted in spring of this year.

These are results for MCCSC students:
- English: 45.9 percent proficient, above the statewide mark of 40.6 percent.
- Math: 50.2 percent proficient, above the statewide mark of 42.1 percent.
- English and math: 39 percent proficient, above the statewide mark of 31.2 percent.
Of the corporation's 16 schools that were tested, nine were at or above the average statewide in English and math proficiency.
Unionville Elementary ranked first (68 percent) followed by Childs Elementary (64.4 percent) and Marline Elementary (56.9 percent).
Of the 16 MCCSC schools, nine were above the state average in math and eight were above the state average in English.
