Good Stories From These Five Food Writers

Each week, Earth Eats shares a comprehensive list of links to food media outlets, including but not limited to  filmbooksphoto blogswebsitesvideo series, and  podcasts.

This week's installment in our food media series is a compilation of five blogs focused on writing. These authors write about eating and cooking, tell stories about past dining experiences and give readers small glimpses into the lives of the authors.

5 Second Rule

An award-winning author, cookbook writer, and contributor to numerous publications, Cheryl Sternman Rule has much to say about food. Every cleverly-named recipe promises a good story along with little insights into daily life.

Food For The Thoughtless

Michael Procopio worked in the kitchens, waited tables, became a sommelier and assisted with food styling before realizing he was content simply writing about food. He has won multiple awards for his humorous culinary tales.

Food Loves Writing

Shanna and Tim Mallon were brought together by interests in nutrition and healing by whole foods, and they have been sharing recipes and heartfelt stories ever since. Recipes from the blog go beyond the food with deeply personal narratives.

Nona Brooklyn

A James Beard Award Finalist, Nona Brooklyn tells a good story. The group blog's column "Field to Fork" presents the stories of the people who grow, prepare, serve and sell good food.

Pen & Palate

Writer Lucy Madison and designer Tram Nguyen have come together to create a beautiful illustrated journal of recipes and narratives. Colorful sketchbook-style imagery and honest storytelling make for a perfect pairing.
