The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office said a fatal crash Monday may have been due to the driver having a medical emergency.

Officers found a Chevrolet Impala with two occupants trapped in the vehicle and a Chevrolet truck with a single occupant trapped, according to a press release. Both vehicles had extensive damage.

A two car collision resulted in one death Tuesday.

Tonya Allgood, 49, was southbound on I-69 near mile marker 98 Tuesday afternoon when her 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer veered off the roadway and into the median.

IU Health Lifeline Service and Monroe Fire Protection administered emergency care, but both drivers were pronounced dead on the scene by the Monroe County Coroner’s Office.

Officers responded to a call around 1:50 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Walnut and 12th Street in Bloomington that a vehicle had struck a man on a scooter and fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
