Bloomington Salvation Army Gift Program Breaks 18-Year Record

The Salvation Army Church in downtown Bloomington is full of gifts, toys, clothes and more to be used to surprise families in need on Christmas Day.

The collection of gifts comes from the Stuff-A-Bus program. Salvation Army partners with Bloomington Transit to run the program.

Bloomington Transit General Manager Lew May says Stuff-A-Bus has brought in more gifts this year than any other in its 18 year run.

“We clocked at 5,348," May says. "We’ve never topped the 5,000 mark so we smashed all of the previous records.”

The church is accepting gifts until Thursday, Dec. 20.
