Monroe County residents who are taking down their Christmas trees have a couple different options for disposal.

The Bloomington Sanitation Department will collect live trees and wreaths through Thursday, January 10.

Residents must remove all lights and decorations, and the items must be on the curb by 5 a.m. on collection day. The city will dispose of the trees.

The Monroe County Solid Waste Management District is also accepting bare trees and wreaths to be recycled. County residents can bring their items to any county district location from January 2 through 12.

The District also accepts Christmas lights and items that require an electrical cord.
