How Indiana Plans To Increase Infant Vaccinations

Indiana is part of the focus of a national campaign to encourage infant vaccinations.

CDC officials joined state health leaders yesterday in Avon to launch a program to help new parents get kids immunized on time.

Parents of every child born in Indiana will get a greeting card from State Health Commissioner William Van Ness congratulating them on the birth of their child.

The card also serves as reminder and vaccine schedule.

Indiana ranks in the bottom half for on-time infant vaccinations.

The CDC reports 61 percent of Indiana children ages 19-35 months get immunizations on time.
