Seymour Residents Receive KKK Invitations

Several residents in Seymour received invitations in their mail this week to join the Ku Klux Klan.

It's a piece of mail longtime Seymour resident Ottis Sauls won't soon forget – a flier placed on his front porch with a chilling message.

"Illegal immigrants are destroying our culture, serve your country, join the KKK," Sauls read.

Someone left the papers at several homes throughout Seymour, directing people to a website and an address in nearby Madison.

Jeanne Bode lives in Seymour and says the community is appalled by the invitation.

"I've never heard of them being in this community," she said. "This is a very nice community and I don't think they'd be well received here."

Seymour police are aware of the fliers but say they haven't had any other encounters with the Ku Klux Klan.
