The Hoosier Lottery announced Monday that it will cancel the Monopoly Millionaires' Club game on Dec. 26.
The game debuted in 23 states in October, but the lottery says sales fell short of projections. The Columbus Republic reports the lottery had lost nearly $348,000 on the game through Nov. 30. That number could reach $500,000 by the game's end.
"Like all good businesses, lotteries have to try new ideas," Hoosier Lottery spokesperson Courtney Arango said in a release. "We incorporated concepts into this game that have been popular elsewhere, but they did not resonate here."
Nationwide game sales failed to cover a $21 million jackpot from New Jersey hit in early November.
